Leads are great, leads are good, leads are bad. It really depends on what you do with them. Put a poor lead in the hands of a confident person and anything is possible. You will ultimately classify the lead according to the results you get personally. I believe that a lead's value is whatever you make of it. If you approach a person with the correct posture, maintaining control of the conversation, where YOU LEAD the flow of the dialog and you will get the kind of results that you seek. When you start "telling" people, in a nice way, instead of asking them to do something, you will be taking a big step in the right direction. You will be leading. People are looking for leaders to show them the way. Always keep in your mind that what you have here (in your program, product) is very valuable. When you truly believe this, this program will become fantastically easy for you. Basically, I think you should have a strong offense and you wont' need much in the way of a good defense because, if you control the direction of the conversation, objections from the lead won't amount to very much. They will be too FASCINATED, EXCITED with a burning desire to hear more from you about your program, product or service. (I am assuming you have something that is far above all the others out there. I know (I am involved in just such a program that's why this is all I do from home for the last 3 years). They will be ANTICIPATING that conference call because you will have build their excitement up with the script that you presented to them. I want my conversation with them to have prepared them with an open mind to hearing Ken's message. I want them to remember my excitement as I delivered a message of hope because I achieved it myself, even after having had bad experiences with other programs. I want them to know that we are indeed a different and unique program (a program that I have been involved in for the last 3 years) and as such they should be prepared to hear about something that is unique and different.

If you want to keep getting the same disappointing results as before, then keep doing the same as you have in the past. The same follows with programs. The only chance of getting better results is to try something different where you believe others are achieving good results in. Show the leads how to do that and then you won't have bad leads anymore, you'll have NEW MEMBERS.
